Green Pastures is a biblical movement that started in 2016. Through our Bible marathons, journeys through the whole Bible, introduction to Christian doctrine, Green cells for Bible study and evangelism, we do everything with a burden to see a generation of Christians biblically balanced, spiritually awakened and ministerially equipped.
From 2016, Green Pastures has helped over a thousand readers from multiple churches to read and study the Bible following a one year reading plan. During the trip, their belief system is challenged by the Bible itself. Learners grow to understand the Bible as One Story that speaks of God’s Plan of salvation In Jesus Christ for an eternal kingdom. From emphasis on centrality of Christ that discourages anthropocentrism, to theological, literary, and historical facets of the context for every book, from the intention of the author to the applications faithful to the text, we educate for a Biblical responsible Christianity.
Since 2022 we started discipleship communities gathering in the neighborhood for the sake of growing together into spiritual maturation through God's word , following the plan of one Year reading plan that can be found on this app: greenpastures.bi
From that year we have grown into 5green cells and we have explored together : Pentateuque, Gospels, 1& 2 Thessalonians and now we are doing together the Puritan Catechism.
In June 2025 we introduced to pastors and local theologian our project "Ubwatsi Butotahaye bwo mw'Isezerano rya Kera" , a project that focuses on creating a comprehensive guide to the Old Testament, presented in a way that is easy to understand and deeply rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each book is explored with an emphasis on its Christ-centered narrative, helping users grasp the continuity of God's redemptive plan.
The resource will serve multiple purposes:
In many communities across Sub-Saharan Africa, the lack of solid theological resources has led to a misunderstanding of Scripture and the central message of Christ. Many teachings prioritize humanism, emotionalism, and worldliness over biblical truth, resulting in a shallow understanding of God’s Word. However, a few well-meaning rural pastors lack tools in the Kirundi language that can help grow in both preaching gift and personal biblical understanding. Our project addresses this critical need by providing clear, accessible resources that highlight the importance of a Christ-centered theology, ultimately leading to spiritual transformation in individuals and communities. It will be released in October this year into two volumes, each volume being around 300 pages.
